Athar store: a collection of four fictional homeware objects with category filters
01

The brief

A store has to carry a visitor from discovering a product to reviewing a consistent order, with clear limits on stock and price.

02

The approach

Athar separates relaxed browsing from the decisive order calculation, which happens on the server: prices sent by the browser are never accepted as the source of truth. An idempotency key makes a repeated submission return the same order instead of creating a second one.

03

What you can verify

  1. Filter the collection and open a product’s details.
  2. Choose a finish and quantity; quantities are bounded by stock across variants.
  3. The cart persists in the browser, while totals are recalculated by the server.
  4. Place a synthetic order; repeating the same request returns the same order.
  5. Domain and API tests cover quantities, quotes and duplicate submissions.
04

Implementation & handoff

Product and cart interfaces, a quote and order API, local cart persistence, and tests for quantities and idempotency. Runs on your machine with Node.js 24 and its built-in SQLite — no npm install.

05

Honest context

Synthetic prices and stock; no payment, shipping or real addresses. Orders are stored locally, and stock is a demonstration check rather than a production inventory reservation. Product images are original generated concept images of fictional items, not goods for sale.
